Nobility crown ZumalacárreguiAntiguo linaje que radicó en la villa de Ichaso, del partido de Azcóitia (Guipúzcoa). De ella fué natural. Miguel de Z., esposo de doña Rosa de Goitia, y ambos padres de Miguel Antonio Z. y Goitia, que casó con doña María de Múgica Campos y Celayeta, naciendo de esta unión. Francisco Antonio Z. y Múgica, Escribano Real de numero en Ormáiztegui, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Ana María de Imaz y Altolaguirre, natural de Ataún, y fueron padres de Miguel Antonio de Z. e Imaz, Diputado por Guipúzcoa en las Cortes de Cádiz, Regente de la Audiencia de Burgos desde 1834 a 1836, y Ministro de Gracia y Justicia en 1842. Eusebio de Z. e Imaz, cura párroco de Ormáiztegui. Juana, Silveria, Miguel Romualdo y Margarita de Z. e Imaz. Tomás Antonio de Z. e Imaz, Comandante General del ejército carlista desde 1833 a 1835, y José Manuel de Z. e Imaz, párroco de Mutiloa. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia Z., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento torre significa que la nobleza es sólida y antigua, pues solamente los muy ricos podían costearse su construcción.
