Abeltino is typically Sardinian, from Gallura, from Sant 'Antonio di Gallura, Palau, Arzachena, Olbia, Calangianus and Tempio Pausania, it should derive from the Gallurese word abbeltinu (flat, clearing with no trees, in the middle of a wood), probably to indicate the place of origin of the founders.
