Accargiu has now virtually disappeared. additions provided by Giuseppe Concas ACCARGIU: it may derive from Vaccargiu = keeper of cows, from the Latin vaccarius or, by juxtaposition, from a possible accarius, keeper of ronzini (see Acca). It is a very rare surname, widespread until recently in only one Municipality of Southern Sardinia, today disappeared !!!
