AGHILAR

Aghilar is typical of Orta Nova in the Foggia area, it should derive from the Andalusian toponym (Spain) Aguilar de la Frontera, the D'Aghilar in Spain were Marquesses of the Aragonese crown Guicciardini in his History of Italy among other cites in the second half of 1400: "... Consalvo Ernandes of house of Aghilar, of cordovese country ...".
