Etymological origin of Italian surname: Alduina

ALDOVINI | ALDOVINO | ALDUINA | ALDUINI | ALDUINO

Aldovini is typically Lombard, of Cremona in particular, Aldovino, practically unique, it is from Campania, Alduini, extremely rare, it should be from northern Italy, Alduina and Alduino, equally rare, seem to be Sicilian, should all derive from the medieval name of Germanic origin Aldovinus or Alduinus, derived from Hardwin (see ARDINI), a name of which we have an example in Alduino Conte di Geraci (PA) and d'Ischia leader of the Swabian-Aragonese faction in the rebellion and in the war against Carlo D'Angiò.
