Alesci, decidedly Sicilian, has a stock in the Messina area of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, Terme Vigliatore and Messina, one in Palermo, one in Niscemi in Nisseno and one in Licata in the Agrigento region, Alescio is specific to southern Sicily, Syracuse and Noto and Pachino in Syracuse and Vittoria, Modica, Chiaramonte, Scicli and Ragusa in Ragusa, should derive from the Turkish name Alesh, the names Alesha and Alisha were also used among the Slavic populations.
