Etymological origin of Italian surname: Amadore

AMADORE | AMADORI | AMATORE | AMATORI

Amadore, very very rare, would appear to be in the area between Galati Mamertino (ME) and Capo D'Orlando, Amadori, widespread among Bolognese, Romagna and Pesaro, has strains also in the Emerald Coast and in the Brescia and Lower Trentino regions. Amatore has a nucleus in the Syracuse area of Noto and Palazzolo Acreide (SR) and one in the Neapolitan, Amatori has a stock in the Pesaro area, one in Thiene (VI) and surroundings and a secondary in Rome, all derive from the Latin name Amator of which we have an example in Historia Longobardorum of Paul Deacon: "... Quante deceased life, Amator in eius loco episcopus ordinatus est. Usque ad eundem enim diem superiores patriarchae, quia in Aquileia propter Romanorum incursionem habitare minimum minimum, ..", traces of this surname can be found with the Amadori Sabbionara d'Avio (TN) in the 1400s, also in the 1400s in Vinci we find Leonardo's Abiera Amadori stepmother.
