AMBROSOLI | BROSOLI

Ambrosoli is typically Lombard, Milan and Gallarate and Varese in the Varese area and the Como area, Brosoli, almost unique, should be an apheretic form of the previous one, which should derive from Ambrosolus a medieval hypocoristic name Ambrosius, of which we find an example between the end of the 1300s and the beginning of the 1400s with a certain Ambrosolus de Cisnuschulo filius quondam domini Poroli, from the Milanese Eastern gate, sindicus of the guild of tailors of the city of Milan.
