ANGARI | ANGARONE | ANGARONI

Angari is absolutely rare, Angarone is practically unique and should be a transcription error of Angaroni which is specific to Gerenzano (VA), should derive from a nickname originated from the Latin word aggarius (often put on the postal service) and would be to indicate that the forefather was assigned to that type of service, but could, although less plausibly, also derive from the medieval word angaria (the punishment for which the offender was forced to travel the streets of the town with a log at his neck) and could in this case it refers to a fact that occurred to a member of the family.
