Etymological origin of Italian surname: Ariis

ARIIS

Ariis is specific of the upper Udinese area, of Raveo near Tolmezzo, in particular, it should derive from the toponym Ariis of Rivignano (UD) or more probably from localities indicated by the plural of the dialectal term arie (aia and by extension farmhouse) to identify an area where more than one farmer's house was located.
