Etymological origin of Italian surname: Aventino

AVENTINO

Extremely rare it would seem to be the area between Lazio and Abruzzo, it could derive from the Latin cognomen Aventinus of which we have an example in an ancient tombstone of the Augustan age: "Aventinus Aug (usti) lib (ertus) - p (er) p (etuus) tabellar (ius) - basem marmorib (us) exornatam - ex voto posuit - c (uram) a (people) Fructuoso collib (erto) ", name still carried over from 1700 for example by Count Aventino Fracastoro, but it is also possible that it derives from names of localities linked for example to the valley of the Abruzzo Aventine river.
