AVETA | AVETO | AVITA

Aveta is specific to Neapolitan, Naples and Melito di Napoli, and to Caserta, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, San Prisco and Maddaloni, Aveto, almost unique, it would seem the Genoese, Avita is practically unique, they should derive, directly or through alterations, from the medieval Latin name Avetus, Aveta of which we have an example of use in a writing of 1283: "..Avetus et Durantus fratres de Banchano pro compartment .I. facto terrarum Blancardorum imperiales ..".
