Baccarani is quite rare and is specific of the Modena area, Baccari seems to be from Lazio, Baccarin is typically Venetian, from Padua, Padua, Abano Terme, Torreglia and Albignasego, and from Vicenza, Dueville, Villaverla and Vicenza, Baccarini has a large Emilian stock, in Ravenna, Faenza and Bagnacavallo in the Ravenna area, in Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma and Argenta in the Ferrara area, one in Umbria, in Città di Castello and Gubbio in the Perugia area and one in Rome and Lanuvio in the Roman area, Baccarino is almost unique, Baccaro typical of the south has an important stock in Puglia, a secondary one in Campania and perhaps in the lower Veneto, should derive, directly or through hypocoristic modifications, from the Italian medieval name Baccario derived from the Latin Latin name Bacurius of which we have example in the Rerum gestarum of the IVth century of Ammianus Marcellin: "... Whose malo aliud quoque accedebat exitiale, quod homines et iumenta cruciabat inedia gravis sagittari et scutarii, quos Bacurius Hiberus quidam tunc regebat et Cassio, avidius impetu calenti progress, ... "; traces of these surnames can be found in Naples in the 18th century with the silversmith Luca Baccaro.
