BARASSI | BARASSO

Barassi is typical of the Varese area, of Castelveccana, Bardello and Porto Val Travaglia, Barasso is almost unique, they should derive from the name of the Varese village of Barasso, whose name in turn should derive from a Celtic name based on the term barros (rovo), while according to a high hypothesis, the word bar (altura) would always come from the word celta.
