BARBATI | BARBATO

Barbati has a stock in the Cremona area, one in the Modena area, one between Rome and L'Aquila, one between Naples and Avellino and one in the Taranto area. Barbato has an important strain in Veneto and one even more important in Campania, they should derive from the Latin cognomen Barbatus brought for example by Lucius Cornelius Scipio Barbatus consul of Rome in the year 298 BC at the time of the third Samnite war, in the Middle Ages we recall that we remember San Barbato born in Vandano of Cerreto Sannita (BN) in the early seventh century.
