Absolutely rare Belardetti, much less rare Belardi, should originate from central Italy, decidedly from the Neapolitan Belardo, Bellardi has a stock in Turin, particularly in Borgomasino, Turin and Collegno, and one in Rome, Belardinelli is specific to the area that includes the Marche, Umbria, Viterbo, the Roman and the Latin, Belardini, much more rare, has a small strain between Florentine and Aretine, one in Macerata and one in Roman, Belardino is almost unique, Bellardi has a Piedmontese stock in the Turin, in Borgomasino, Turin and Collegno, a Lombard, in Cremona and in Bagnolo San Vito in the Mantua, some presence in Emilia and Romagna and a Roman stock, Bellardin is practically unique, Bellardini is typically Lazio, of Rome, of Sgurgola in frusinate and of Latina, Bellardino, almost unique, has little presence in the north and some in the south, Bellardo is specific to Turin, should all derive, directly or through hypocoristic or dialectal alterations i, from the apheresis of the medieval name Abaelardus either directly or through modifications from the name Belardus of which we know for example Belardus de Esculo (1112-1120) (Belardo da Ascoli) author of the Descriptio Terrae Sanctae. Traces of this surname can be found for example in the frusinate in 1500 with Francesco de Belardo from Caira in the frusinate.
