Bencivegna, extremely rare, should be of the Neapolitan, Bencivenga is typical of the Neapolitan and Caserta, Bencivenni is specific to the Bolognese, both derive from the well-augural medieval name Bencivenga, Bencivegna, or Bencivenni, of which there are several traces in deeds since 1200. as an example, in a notarial deed dated 1218 we read: "... silicet Ildebrandino et Jacopo Cavalcantis et Ranerio Ranucci pro tertia part and Gundo et Ranuccino et Bencivenni Gislincionis recipientibus pro se et Boninsegna predicto ...".
