Etymological origin of Italian surname: Buffele

BUFFELE | BUFFELE'

Both Buffele and Buffelè are almost unique and typically Lombard, they could derive from a dialectal term originating from the word bufà (to blow) or from the term buffè (belief, pantry), but a contamination of the term ufelè (pastry chef), in all the cases would seem to refer to the profession of the progenitor.
