Etymological origin of Italian surname: Bulanti

BULANTE | BULANTI

Bulante, practically unique in Valtellina, Bulanti is specific to Morbegno, Talamona and Tartano in the Sondri area, they should derive from a dialectal nickname originating from the apheretic form of the itinerant term, probably to indicate that the founders made itinerant traders by trade, we find traces of these surnames in a 1686 deed citing a certain Battista Bulante from Talamona.
