Carucci seems to have many strains, in Puglia, Campania and Lazio, Caruccio, very rare, typical of the Salerno area, should derive from the medieval name Carutius or Caruccius, of which we have an example in the Diplomatic Code of medieval Lombardy under the year 1173 we read in one act: "... septem quos debent Galutius et Carutius de Lambrate ...".
