Calosso is well present in Piedmont, particularly in the Asti area in Asti, San Damiano d'Asti, Canelli and Nizza Monferrato and in Turin, it could derive from the medieval name Calocius, in 1400 in Genoa we find an engraver called Calocius de Guisulfis. additions provided by Daniele Zaia Calosso derives from the name of the municipality of Asti Calosso.
