CAMPOLI | CAMPOLINI | CAMPOLINO

Campoli is typically Lazio, very widespread in the Roman, in the Latin dialect, in the frusinate, with a small stock also in the Neapolitan dialect, Campolini, almost unique, is from Lazio, Campolino, equally rare, it would seem Sicilian, could derive, directly or through hypocoristic, from the name medieval Campolus, but it is also possible that they may derive from an alteration of the Latin term campilius, to indicate in the progenitor a peasant attached to dei campilia (see CAMPILI).
