Etymological origin of Italian surname: Capra

CAPRA

Widespread throughout northern central western Italy with isolated stocks also in the center and in the south, it derives from a nickname linked to the word goat, or for characteristics of the job of pastor or other. We find traces of this surname in Milan in the 1400s with Baldassarre Capra chancellor of the archiepiscopal curia.
