Etymological origin of Italian surname: Capri

CAPRI

Capri, quite widespread, has a small stock in Gualdo Cattaneo in Perugia, a large stock in Rome, and is well present in Valmontone, Zagarolo, Labico, Albano Laziale and San Cesareo, a stock in L'Aquila and Pescara, small presences in Campania, a strain in Fasano in Brindisi and Bari, and small stocks in Messina and Palermo, the origin can be, in the vast majority of cases, toponyms like Capri in the Neapolitan or Capri Leone in the Messina area or other similar ones, in some cases of dialectal nicknames referring perhaps to the job of a shepherd perhaps carried out by the progenitors (see also CAPRI ')
