Cardin is typical of the Paduan area, Cardini would seem Tuscan, with a lineage also in the Macerata area, Cardino, absolutely rare, it would appear in the Campanian-Lazio area, all derive from the apheresis of the diminutive of the name Riccardo. We find traces of these surnames in the State Archives of Cremona where the deeds of the notary Francesco Cardini dated from 1451 to 1487 and of the notary Giacomo Cardini dated from 1480 to 1509 and in the 16th century Mons. Luca Cardino is Bishop of Latina from 1582 to 1594.
