Caredda is typical of southern Sardinia, while Careddu is widespread throughout the island, although with great prevalence in the central northern part. additions provided by Giovanni Vezzelli Caredda and Careddu are Sardinian surnames which are respectively the feminine and masculine diminutive of the surnames Cara or Caru = expensive and expensive.
