Carignano is typical of western Piedmont, Turin, Rivalta of Turin, Pinerolo and Cavour in the Turin area and of Saluzzo and Cuneo in the Cuneo area and Livorno Ferraris in the Vercelli area, it should derive from the name of the town of Carignano in the Turin area, probably the place of origin of the founders.
