CARINA | CARINI | CARINO

Carina would seem to have two strains, one in the province of Messina and one in the province of Brescia and Cremona, present throughout Italy as Carini, Carano from Calabria. All these surnames should have originated from the Latin cognomen Carinus, the Sicilian lineage of the Carini, present above all in the Palermo area, may derive from the toponym Carini in the Palermo area.
