Carion, very rare, has very small strains in Ferrara, Rovigo and in the Paduan area, in particular in Solesino, Carione, equally rare, has presences in the Neapolitan, Salerno and Bari, while Carioni, the most widespread, is typical of the lower Bergamo and above all of the Cremona, Trescore Cremasco and Crema, with strains also in Milan, Lodi and Turate in the Como area, should derive from augmentative forms, even dialectal, based on the Latin name Carius (see CARIO).
