Etymological origin of Italian surname: Carniel


Carniel is from Treviso and Pordenone, Carnielli, very rare it is specific to the provinces of Treviso and Venezia, Carniello, quite rare it seems to be specific to the area that from the Paduan area, through the Treviso area to western Friuli, Carnielo, almost unique is from Treviso. (see CARGNEL and also CARNELLI) additions provided by Giovanni Vezzelli Carnielli is probably a derivative from the name Carnia, a historical-geographical region of Friuli. Olivieri 170, note 171, points out that carneello was used in the Belluno area in the meaning of 'weaver'.
