Etymological origin of Italian surname: Casabona

Casabona has an original stock in Genoa, one in Livorno and one in Sicily in the area between Enna, Caltanissetta and Catania, it derives from the name of a place that for the Sicilian stock could be the toponym Casabona (KR), but also more simply indicates the belonging to a welcoming home, the Tuscan lineage could originate from the botanist Giuseppe Goedenhuitze a Flemish who, moved to Tuscany in the second half of the 1500s in the service of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Italianized his surname precisely in Casabona.
