Casagli, decidedly Tuscan, has a particular stock in the Siena area, in particular in Poggibonsi, Casaglia, quite rare, has a Tuscan lineage in the Florentine and Sienese and one in the Perugino, they should derive from the various toponyms such as Casaglia of Borgo San Lorenzo in the Florentine, Casaglia of San Gimignano in the Siena area, Casaglia of Perugia in the Perugia area or other similar ones, which should all derive from the Latin term medieval casalia, plural form of casalium (farmhouse, group of rural houses).
