Etymological origin of Italian surname: Cassago

CASSAGHI | CASSAGO

Specifically from Milanese and Brescans, Dovrebbero derives from the Cassago Brianza (LC) or Casciago (VA) place name, but it is possible to have an oldest origin, in some cases, directly from a Latin Cassius ager (Cassio field) modifications in Cassiago and from to Cassago or Cassaghi. In 1351, at the bottom of it, he came to nuns in the Capitol of S. Giovanni di Monza, Giovanni da Cassago, at the end of 1356 and quoted a Marchese di Cassago: "... and intrigue capitulations extricse eiusdem ecclesie of Massalia: petiam unam silve iacentem in territorio dictarum cassinarum de Mardegore ubi dicitur ad terram ecclesie de Massalie, cu manetti Petri de Ghizio et partly Marchesii de Cassago, meridie dicti Petri de Ghizio et a monte dicti Poli et est perti viginti vel circha .. .
