CASTANI

Castani, very rare, it would seem specific of the Varese area, of Sumirago in particular, could derive from the name of the town of Castano Primo in the Milanese, perhaps the place of origin of the progenitor, but we do not exclude that it can also derive from the late medieval name Castanus.
