Etymological origin of Italian surname: Catto'

Cattò, extremely rare, would seem typical of Lombardy, in particular Milanese and Varese, Catton is unique, Cattone is almost so, both are from the north, Cattoni, the less rare, has stocks in Milan and Milan, in Uggiate -Those in the Como and Trento and in Trentino areas, there should be hypocoristic or augmentative forms of modifications of the medieval name Gactus (see CATTO), or even, and more likely, of forms directed or contracted by the dialect of the Longobard name Hattone of which we have an example in this text of the end of the 9th century: "... The queen and post of sanctity monialis qui cum viro suo Hattone dedit fratribus Haraldi montem ..".
