Cavallara, absolutely rare, would seem Lombard, Cavallari has an Emilian core between Bologna and Ferrara, one perhaps not secondary in Milan and one in Lazio, Cavallaro is present in a significant way in Campania, Calabria, Sicily, but also in Lazio and Abruzzo and in Veneto, Cavalleri is from Milan, Milan, Bergamo and Brescia, Cavallero is typically Piedmontese, may derive from toponyms such as Cà Cavallara (FE) or Cavallara di Ostellato (FE) or the various Cavallari (SO), (CE), SQ) or Cavallaro (VI) or Cavalleri Fumeri (TO), but it is also very likely a connection with the trade of horse dealer or horse attendant. We find traces of these surnames in Ventimiglia (IM) since the end of the fifteenth century with the notary Simone Cavallaro.
