Very rare is typical of Valtellina. additions provided by Giacomo Ganza / Villa di Tirano (Sondrio) Valtellina surname, Cederna still remains essentially typical of the province of Sondrio. Concentrated mostly in Poggiridenti, a town in the immediate vicinity of Sondrio. The name derives from "Zederna or Zedernono", which in ancient times indicated some districts of the nearby town of Montagna. The surname is very rare outside Valtellina, but has had a certain notoriety at a national level thanks to the two Milanese journalists and writers Antonio and Camilla Cederna, grandchildren of Antonio Cederna born in Ponte in Valtellina in 1841, then settled in Milan, where he became an entrepreneur successfull.
