CELESTINI | CELESTINO

Celestini is typical of the provinces of Rome and Viterbo, but there is also an Umbrian lineage in Città di Castello (PG), Celestino has a lineage from Cosenza, one from Caserta and one from Palermo, these surnames should derive from the name Celestino, widespread in medieval times ( is the name of five popes until the 13th century), but it is also possible that they are named after the Celestine monks or because of their proximity to their monastery or for other reasons.
