Celino is decidedly Pugliese, with a stock in Carovigno, Erchie, Mesagne and San Vito dei Normanni in Brindisi and one in Cerignola in the Foggia area, Cellino has a stock in Turin and the Asti area, and one in Mesagne in the Brindisi area, they should derive from the name from the town of Cellino San Marco in the Brindisi area, but in some cases they could derive from hypocoristic forms of apheresis of the name Micele (see CELI), perhaps brought by the founders.
