CERQUETI | CERQUETO | CERQUETTI

Cerqueti has a lineage of Marche and one of Abruzzo, Cerqueto, absolutely rare, is Neapolitan, Cerquetti would seem specific to Civitanova Marche (MC) but with a stock also in Rome, it could derive from one of the many toponyms in the Marche and in Umbria such as Cerquete (AN), Cerqueto (PU) and (PG) and (VT), Cerqueta (FR), of this use we have an example in the XIIIth century: "... alumnus fuit Jacobus de Cerqueto, qui suis orationibus obtinuit. .. ".
