Chechi is Tuscan, from Grosseto and Civitella Paganico in the Grosseto area and from San Quirico d'Orcia, Montepulciano, Siena and Radicofani in the Sienese, Checo, almost unique, it would seem Friulian, should derive from a contracted apheretic hypocoristic form referred to a progenitor named Francesco , which is compressed in Checo by apheresis.
