Etymological origin of Italian surname: Chiaramella

CHIARAMELLA | CHIARAMELLO

Chiaramella, now present only in the Milanese area, is extremely rare and should be of Piedmontese origin, as an alteration of the surname Chiaramello, which is typical of the Cuneo area, of Fossano, Cuneo, Cervere, Savigliano and Centallo, although we find ancient southern traces, in Benevento and ragusano, they should derive from the medieval name, Claramelle, an altered form of the name Clarabelle.
