CHINNICI

Chinnici, decidedly Sicilian, from Palermo, especially from Belmonte Mezzagno, Palermo and Misilmeri, and from Catania and Misterbianco in Catania, should derive from a name anciently attributed to the fifteenth son Chìnnici in dialect fifteen, with emphasis on the first vowel, subsequent modifications they then led to a flat pronunciation of the surname.
