Chimenti is present as a leopard spot in the country, has important nuclei in Tuscany, Rome and its surroundings, in the Bari and Taranto areas, in the Cosenza and Palermo areas, with presences also in Turin and Milan, Chimento has stocks in the Vicenza area, in the provinces of Rome and Latina, in the Cosenza and Bari areas, Chiumenti, very rare, has stocks in the Vicenza area and in the Foggia area, as well as the more widespread Chiumento, they should all derive from modifications of the Latin nomen Clemens, Clementis, of which we have an example in the Historiae of Tacitus: "... Suedius Clemens ambitioso imperio regebat, ut adversus modestiam disciplinee corruptus, ita proeliorum avidus. Non Italia adiri nec loca sedesque patriae videbantur ...", of the use of this type of name change we have an example in Florence in 1434 we read in a register: "Opere cum consilio Chimentis Cipriani ser Nigi".
