CIALFI

Cialfi is specific of the Aquila area, of Montereale and L'Aquila and of Rome, it should derive from the medieval name Cialfo, a contracted and altered apheretic form of the name Ricolfo, of this use we have an example in a contract of sale of 1339 to Siena, where a certain Cialfo di Tatino appears as a witness to the signing of the contract. (see also CIOLFI)
