Etymological origin of Italian surname: Cibrario


Cibrario is typical of Turin and Canavese. additions provided by Stefano Ferrazzi Cibrario is typically Turin, Cibraro, almost unique, found exclusively in Milan, both of these surnames derive from the dialectal term cibrario or cibraro, meaning capraio or goat guardian. The famous Piedmontese historian and statesman Luigi Cibrario (born in Turin in 1802 and died in Trobiolo in 1870) was a famous character, also known as a minor poet during the nineteenth century. Regarding the surnames Cibrario and Cibraro, it is still the surname of a trade name attributed to the progenitor.
