Etymological origin of Italian surname: Corbisieri

CORBISIERI | CORBISIERO | CORBUSIERO

Corbisieri, absolutely rare, present to a very limited extent in the Neapolitan, Avellino, Foggia and Potentino areas, is probably due to transcription errors of Corbisiero, which is typical of the Neapolitan and Avellinese, of Marzano di Nola and Mugnano del Cardinale (AV) and of Marigliano, Nola and Visciano (NA), Corbusiero is practically unique, they could derive from the craft of basket-maker, according to others it derives instead from the late Latin word corbiceus (specific of the crow, from the Latin corbus) and would indicate particular characteristics or attitudes of the progenitor .
