Etymological origin of Italian surname: Corleto

CORLETA | CORLETO

Corleta, now almost disappeared in Italy, would seem to originate from the Salerno area, it should derive from the toponym Corleto Monforte in the Salerno area, but it could in some cases be a transcription error of the more common Corleto, typical of the Potentino, of Pignola, Sasso di Castalda, Potenza and Miglionico, which derives from the toponym Corleto Perticara in the Potentino area.
