COVI | COVO

Covi is typical of Trentino, of Fondo, Trento, Bolzano and Sarnonico (TN), Covo is unique, they should derive from a medieval name Covus not better identified, but it is also possible to derive from a nickname originating from the dialect word covo, covi ( sheaf, sheaves of straw or hay), we find traces of these surnames in Soncino in the second half of the 1500 with Notary Ottavio Covus.
