Etymological origin of Italian surname: Cristino

CRISTINA | CRISTINI | CRISTINO

Cristina has a strain between Varese and Verbanese and one in Sicily between Messina and Palermo, Cristini has a stock in eastern Lombardy, especially in the Brescia area and in the nearby Verona area and a stock in central-southern Lazio, especially in the Roman and frusinate, Cristino instead seems specific of the Avellinese, of Foggia and of Bari, they should derive from the medieval name Christinus of which we have an example in this text of 1291: "..super cameram sitam super operatorsum domus quondam Christini barbitonsoris predicti ..".
